Employees of the company providing para-transit, or ‘GOBUS’ services in St. John’s have voted to join CUPE.

CUPE National Representative Ed White says, “The 32 Drivers and one Utility Worker who work for MVT Canadian Bus will now be part of CUPE Local 5120.  We hope to be able to sit down with the company and negotiate their first union contract in the very near future.”

White says the company has entered into a contract with the City of St. John’s to provide para-transit, or GOBUS services to clients in and around the St. John’s area.

CUPE also represents municipal outside and inside workers with the City of St. John’s, Locals 569 and 1289, as well as Mile One Centre employees, Local 569-01.
