On February 24th, 2014 the President of Uganda signed into law legislation which criminalizes same-sex relations in Uganda. The law provides for life imprisonment for same-sex relationships between consenting adults. It also makes it a crime not to report to authorities people who are gay.

CUPE is opposed to this violation of human rights and sent this letter to Prime Minister Harper.
