SYDNEY, NS - A group of child care workers in Glace Bay have voted to join Canada’s largest union.

The 15 employees at the Jewels and Gems Day Care are now members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4375.

CUPE will represent ECE Teachers (Early Childhood Educators) as well as support staff.

CUPE National Representative Jacquie Bramwell says she’s looking forward to a positive work relationship with the employer and negotiating a first collective agreement for the employees.
