cupe.ca now offers its visitors the option of having content emailed to you. Create a free online services account, and you can get news updates daily, weekly, summary, full text or as an Adobe Acrobat document (PDF).

How it works

The web server generates the email messages automatically - every day for those who choose to receive the email daily, or every week for those who choose to receive it weekly.

If you choose the full version, the server sends you the title and the content of each article posted in the last day or week. If you choose the short version, it sends only the article titles and a short summary, with links to the full text on the web site.

You can also choose the PDF version, which gives you the short version in email, but attatches an Adobe Acrobat Reader file with the full version of all the stories, which you can print and post in your workplace or mail to your members.
If you choose daily messages, you will get one message a day. If nothing new is posted to the site, you won’t get any messages. If you choose weekly messages, you will get one message a week.

How do I make it stop?

At the bottom of each message there is a link entitled “unsubscribe me”. Click on it. That will do it. Honest. This email is only useful to us if it’s useful to you.

How do I change my options?

Visit the CUPE online services page and log in. You’ll be taken to a page with your user information. Update that and you’ll get a page that allows you to change how (or if) you receive CUPE News by email. Click on update and you’re done.

I don’t know my userid and/or password

Visit the lost password page. Type in your email address, and click “send”. If we have a record of you, we will send your user id and password to your email address. Look for a message titled “Your CUPE online services account”.

I can’t sign up because they say my id is in use.

It’s possible you created your account some time ago. Visit the lost password page. Type in your email address, and click “send”. If it’s your account, you’ll get an email message. Otherwise, choose a different ID.

Should I forward this to all my contacts/friends/locals/members?

No. Send them this page instead and encourage them to sign up. That way they can choose when and how the receive CUPE news by email.
