HALIBURTON, ON – Years of flat provincial funding for hospital services is hurting patient care in communities across Ontario, say hospital workers rallying in Haliburton and Minden tomorrow (Friday, June 5, 2015).

Rural hospitals across the province are particularly hard-hit with severe cuts to care and services.

“It’s very important for communities like ours to stand up and show the province we will defend our local hospitals. We will demand better funding for our hospitals so patient care is maintained,” says Dorothy Winterburn a personal support worker.

The first rally begins at 11 a.m. at the Haliburton Highlands Health Services site in Haliburton.  A second rally and BBQ starts at 12 noon at the Minden hospital site.
