CUPE’s Setting the Table Bargaining Women’s Equality Conference

Fee: $195.00 per delegate. Locals who could not otherwise attend a national conference are eligible to apply for assistance from the National Convention / National Events Assistance Fund.

  • Application for on-site child care

    Arrangements are being made for child care at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel during the conference. The child care centre will be open:

    • Tuesday, February 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday, February 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • Thursday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • Friday, February 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

    If you wish to take advantage of these child care facilities, please complete the attached "on site" application, and send it to the Equality Branch, CUPE National Office to be received no later than January 11, 2009.

    Note: We regret that we will be unable to accommodate any children who have not been registered by January 11.

    At-Home Child Care

    A subsidy is available to offset at-home child care costs to a maximum of $50 per day, per delegate.

    Following the conference, local unions may claim reimbursement on behalf of its delegate(s) by completing the "at-home" application. The form must also be signed by the delegate and accompanied by an original receipt for the expense incurred.

    Applications for this subsidy must be received by the National Secretary-Treasurer no later than March 31, 2009.

    Delegates should contact the hotel's reservations department at 514-861-3511 or the Global Reservations centre at 800-441-1414 to make reservations. The Group code for making reservations by telephone is NCWB09 and should be quoted when making the reservations to ensure the participants will take advantage of our negotiated rate. Alternately, delegates can reserve on-line, using promotion code GRNWC1.

    The deadline to make reservations is January 11, 2009. After that date, the hotel will release any unsold rooms for general sale which means there will be no guarantee on either the negotiated rate or availability.
