Quebec health care workers stepped up their pressure for a new contract, staging a series of one-day walkouts in November and December.

Members of CUPE 3773 picketed outside the Résidence Mance-Décarie, a long term care hospital, part of the Pavillon St-Henri in Montreal. Joining health care workers providing patient care and hospital services throughout the province, they demanded the issue of workload be addressed seriously at the bargaining table.

Calling on decision-makers to skip the pretty speeches, SCFP-Québec president Claude Généreux said: “Our members need urgent and concrete action to improve their working conditions and assure proper care for their patients.”
