The federal budget does nothing to promote equality among Canadians and depending on how increased funding for security is spent, immigrant communities and racialized communities may find themselves targets of increased harassment and discrimination.
Similarly, the environment got barely a mention in the budget with any new funding for water or transit linked to the private sector as the future of the planet took a back seat to trade and profits.
