Regina: Education workers in two Regina CUPE bargaining units will hold an information picket tomorrow, Tuesday, June 19, from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., outside the public school board office, 1600 4th Avenue.

The school support staff, which includes special education assistants, elementary administrative secretaries, teacher association, nutrition co-ordinators, caretakers and trades people, are holding the information picket to support their bargaining committees efforts to conclude fair agreements.

Members will be picketing just prior to the School Trustees Board meeting on Tuesday night.

The bargaining objective for both locals is to achieve an overall compensation package equivalent to the teachers monetary settlement of September, 2000.

In addition, Local 3766, which is comprised of members in female-dominated positions, is pushing for pay equity adjustments to close the gap between their rates and that of the traditionally male positions at the School Board.
