Fifty employees of the Salvation Army’s Addictions and Residential Centre in Edmonton will decide next week if they want to join CUPE.

CUPE Alberta President D’Arcy Lanovaz said the union applied last week to represent the employees after a majority signed CUPE membership cards. The Alberta Labour Board has ordered that a vote take place November 15.

The employees include kitchen staff, accounting, addiction counsellors, support workers, a registered nurse, housekeeping, and other non-management staff.
