Unemployment in Canada could hit a record level of two million by the end of this year, unless governments take better action to save jobs and stimulate the economy. The best way to do this is by strengthening public services. That’s the key message of CUPE’s March issue of the Economic Climate for Bargaining. The report also outlines public solutions needed to achieve greater retirement security, provides recent forecasts of major economic indicators and includes an analysis of recent employment, inflation and wage trends.
