CUPE’s second pension trustee strategy meeting takes place May 12–14, 2008 at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa.

Trustees from across the country will share knowledge and experiences of the many complex issues they face.
They will continue to develop strategies to defend and strengthen our members’ pensions and expand pension coverage to all.
The meeting is free, but trustees must pay for hotel and travel costs. Some trustees may be able to get their pension fund to cover their hotel and travel.
Organizers have some money available to subsidize trustees to ensure the conference has participants from pension plans that cover all CUPE’s membership.
The meeting will be in english and french.

Location and Accommodation:
The meeting takes place at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, 1 Rideau Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1N 8S7. This hotel is downtown, five minutes’ walk from the Byward Market and Parliament Hill, across from the Rideau Canal and Rideau Centre.
There are a limited number of smoking rooms available.
Hotel Reservations:
Rates are $195 plus tax per night or $235 plus tax for a room with a view.
There are additional charges for high-speed Internet, parking and local phone calls.

You will need a valid major credit card to guarantee your reservations. You can also pay in advance by money order or certified cheque.
The hotel will also ask you for a $150 per day incidental charge deposit.
