NEW GLASGOW, NS The Canadian Union of Public Employees will release the results of a ratification vote by 3,300 hospital workers this Friday in New Glasgow.

The union reached a tentative agreement with more than 30 hospital employers across Nova Scotia earlier this month.

(ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT/PHOTO EDITORS:The union will hold a short news conference on Friday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. at its New Glasgow area office, 115 MacLean St, to release the vote results.)

If accepted by CUPE hospital workers, the new contract would run through to March 31, 2006. It affects health care, service and clerical employees in every District Health Authority in the province, with the sole exception of the Capital District.
