SYDNEY, NS – CUPE Local 3630 has reached a tentative agreement in bargaining with the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home.

CUPE National Representative John Evans says, “Given that we were in a strike countdown, this is a positive development.  We were able to get a deal with the help of a Conciliator from the Department of Labour.”

Evans says a ratification meeting is scheduled for February 6 at the Maritime Inn Port Hawkesbury. There will be two sessions at 1:30 and 3:00 p.m.

No details of the agreement will be released until after ratification.
