(Sydney) One hundred employees of Resi-Care, members of CUPE Local 3008, have ratified a new, three-year contract.

The Residential Rehabilitation Workers (RRWs) voted 88% in favour of the deal, in a vote held September 8, 2003.

In addition, CUPE Local 4172, representing employees at the Society for the Treatment of Autism in Sydney, has reached a tentative agreement on behalf of 100 employees at that agency.

The deal was reached yesterday and will be presented to employees on September 22, 2003 for ratification.

Both packages include the provincial settlement recently negotiated on behalf of some 800 CUPE residential homes workers across Nova Scotia.
