LETHBRIDGE – Paul Moist, President of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will visit a number of communities in Southern Alberta as part of “Communities Day,” October 5th.

CUPE has declared October 5th Communities Day to celebrate and recognize the work public sector employees do to build strong communities. CUPE represents over 540,000 employees in the municipal, health care, education and other public sectors.

Moist will visit employees at Lethbridge Regional Hospital, as well as a number of other locations in the Lethbridge and Medicine Hat region. In Medicine Hat, Moist will participate in CUPE’s “Stuff the Bus” campaign for the food bank.

  • Thursday October 5th
    8:30 – 10:30 am
    Lethbridge Regional Hospital (960 19th Street Lethbridge) - walkabout and meeting with CUPE members.

     

  • 11:30 – 1:00 pm
    Taber Hospital cafeteria (4326 50th Ave) - pizza lunch with employees.

     

  • 2:30 pm
    Medicine Hat food bank (532 South Railway St SE) - meeting the bus for the “Stuff the Bus” food bank drive, Moist will be available here for photos and interviews.

     

  • 7:00 pm
    Lethbridge – Social for CUPE members (424 North Mayor Magrath Drive, Lethbridge).

     

  • Friday October 6th
    9:00 – 10:00 am
    Cardston Hospital (144 2nd Street W) -walkabout, meeting CUPE members.

     

  • 10:45 – 12:00 pm
    Raymond Hospital (150 N 4th Street East) - walkabout, meeting CUPE members.

     

  • 1:30 – 2:30 pm
    Extendicare Lethbridge (1821 13th Street North) - walkabout, meeting CUPE members.
