OTTAWA The president of Canadas largest union will speak at a rally protesting the pro-free trade agenda of the Organization of American States.

Judy Darcy and the 485,000-member Canadian Union of Public Employees are leading the fight to defend and strengthen public services in Canada and throughout the Americas. In her speech she will make connections from Walkerton to Bolivia, showing how anti-privatization and anti-globalization struggles affect us all.

  • WHO: Judy Darcy, National President of the Canadian Union of Public Employees

  • WHAT: Speech to the Canadian Labour Congress rally against the Organization of American States (OAS).

  • WHERE: The rally starts at City Hall and marches to Dieppe Gardens at the foot of Ouellette Avenue, where Darcy will speak.

  • WHEN: Rally starts at noon, Darcys address is scheduled for 1:45 p.m.
