GREATER SUDBURY Paul Moist, National President of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), will join the picket line for striking Greater Sudbury Hydro Plus Inc. workers, in a solidarity picket this Friday, September 10th, at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Moist will also present the Steward Appreciation awards at a banquet the same evening.

The 85 members of CUPE 4705 have been on strike since June 19th. The main issue in the strike is the protection of health care benefits for retired workers.

The CUPE Steward Appreciation Banquet is organized by the Sudbury CUPE Council, and recognizes the work of union activists from all CUPE Locals in the Sudbury Area.
