Where:    Ming Pao Daily News, 1355 Huntingwood Drive, Toronto

The wages at Ming Pao are well below industry standards and it’s pretty clear that this employer has been badly exploiting its workers. The employer needs to get to the bargaining table and start negotiating in good faith for a fair first contract,” says Rennick.

Workers at 159,000-circulation Ming Pao Daily News are members of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers (CEP) union and have been on strike since September 21. CUPE Ontario is joining other labour unions at tomorrow’s rally to show support for the workers.

CUPE represents more than 230,000 workers in Ontario. Its members work in health care, at schools and universities, for municipalities and provide a range of social services supports.
