Ontario’s largest union, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and Fred Hahn, CUPE Ontario president, will host busloads of supporters from across Southern Ontario on day one of a three-day solidarity rally outside the Engineered Coated Products (ECP) plant in Brantford, Ontario, on September 15, 2010.

The rally, supporting ECP workers, members of USW Local 1-500, now in the second year of a strike, will call on Ontario to follow the example of BC and Quebec by adopting anti-scab legislation to prevent rogue employers from hurting communities, like Brantford, by dragging strikes out as the ECP management has done.

Day two of the rally will be hosted by the CAW and day three by ECP workers’ own union, the United Steelworkers.
