HALIFAX – CUPE Nova Scotia will be participating in International Women’s Day events this weekend, including one in Lunenburg being hosted by The Second Story Women’s Centre.

CUPE NS Women’s Committee Chair Sharon Hubley will co-facilitate a workshop on ‘Woman and Unions’ with South Shore District Labour Council President Lisa Mason.

The celebration takes place Sunday, March 8th, from 1:00-6:00 pm. Click here for more details about that event.

Other IWD 2015 events include:

  • Friday, March 6 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at NSCC Waterfront Campus, 5th Floor. The NS Advisory Council on the Status of Women and NSCC are hosting a reception in honour of the Women Innovating in Nova Scotia Bursary and International Women’s Day. The event is free and no RSVP necessary.
  • Sunday, March 8 at 1:30pm at Parade Square. The Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council invites union members, social movement activists, and members of the public to celebrate International Women’s Day.
  • Sunday, March 8 from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Bus Stop Theatre. Music Liberatory is hosting a free community “show and tell” to develop a female-led music culture.
