The union’s Human Rights Committee is celebrating BHM under the theme Looking at the Past, Present, and Future, at the Ward One Social and Recreation Center, 487 Brother Street, New Glasgow on February 21 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Confirmed speakers include: • Crystal States – Regional Director of the Black Educators Association and the African Nova Scotia Affairs North-Central Network • Morgan Gero – recent BLAC Student Society president at St. Francis Xavier and now a teacher at the St. Andrew Junior School in Antigonish • Robert French – Executive Director of the Valley African Nova Scotia Development Association Light refreshments and entertainment will follow the panel discussion.
