NORTH BAY Judy Darcy, national president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will attend a rally and address striking North Bay Hydro workers today in front of North Bay City Hall at 5:30 p.m.

CUPE Local 72, representing 34 workers at North Bay Hydro, has been on strike since July 4th, fighting to retain benefits for retired workers. The union has offered to submit unresolved issues to binding arbitration by a neutral third party to end the strike, but so far their employer has refused.

Judy Darcy is president of Canadas largest union, with half a million members working in public utilities, municipal services, health care, social services, education and many other services.
