(Halifax) - As a result of communication between the two parties this week, CUPE Local 108 and the Halifax Regional Municipality will return to the bargaining table early next week (TBA).

Contract talks on behalf of 530 outside workers with HRM will resume at that point.

An emergency membership meeting which Local 108 scheduled for tomorrow night (June 14) will be postponed, pending the outcome of next weeks contract talks.

CUPE Local 108 Representative Larry Power says, the employer has indicated some willingness to move on some of the issues facing us, so we are certainly prepared to sit down with them and see if we can come up with a negotiated settlement to this dispute.
