A special memorial service was being held in Ottawa on Sunday for the OC Transpo workers who were killed tragically on April 6 when a former employee opened fire at a transit commission garage.

National President Judy Darcy joined Bob Mannion, president of CUPE 5500, in laying a wreath at the service. Local 5500 represents the supervisors and security staff at the Ottawa-Carleton transit commission. As well, national and regional political leaders participated in the ceremony.

The service took take place on April 18 at 1 p.m. at the Corel Centre in Kanata.
