(St. John’s) – Employees at the John Howard Society of Newfoundland and Labrador have reached a tentative agreement with their employer on a new, four-year contract.

CUPE National Representative Ed White says the deal is retroactive to April 1, 2010 and includes the implementation of a Job Evaluation program.

Local 4864 represents 35 employees in St. John’s and Stephenville including Residential Support Staff, Program Facilitators and Addictions Counselors.

White says full details will not be released until the local members have a chance to see it and vote on it.  A ratification meeting will be scheduled for some time next week.

The tentative agreement was reached with the assistance of a Conciliation officer at the Labour Relations Agency.
