Springhill – CUPE has been granted intervenor status at upcoming UARB meetings on the possible dissolution of the town.

CUPE National Representative Betty Jean Sutherland says, “On behalf of Local 919, Town of Springhill municipal workers, we are very pleased that we will have standing at these meetings.

“The Board heard the merits of our Application and have agreed that the interests of these employees must be considered in the proceedings. We commend them for making this decision,” says Sutherland.

“CUPE has a real and substantial interest in the outcome of these meetings. Local 919 and its members have a rich history in the Town of Springhill. The union was certified in 1965,” she explains.
