More than 500 local public employees will gather in Victoria next week for the annual meeting of British Columbias largest union. The Convention of the BC Division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees will convene on June 13th at 7:30 pm and will adjourn on June 16th at 4:00 pm.

All convention events will take place at the Victoria Conference Centre, 720 Douglas Street, Victoria.

Highlights of the four day convention will include:

  • Wednesday, June 13:
    7:30 pm, Keynote Address by CUPE BC President Barry O’Neill
  • Thursday, June 14:
    10:30 am, Address by CUPE National President, Judy Darcy
    1:30 pm, Address by BC Federation of Labour President Jim Sinclair
  • Friday, June 15:
    11:00 am, Address by CUPE National Secretary-Treasurer Geraldine McGuire
  • As well, on Saturday, June 16th, delegates will elect a new provincial executive.

Media may register for accreditation in the View Royal Room of the Conference Centre, beginning at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 13th.
