CUPE child care workers and organizers took part in Windsor’s Children Fun Fest in September, handing out CUPE safety armbands to children in attendance. “The event was a huge success,” said CUPE organizer Laura Moore. “Thousands of children and their families took part.”

Darlene Williams, from Local 3677 and Jian Jiao, from Local 543, were part of the CUPE contingent handing out CUPE armbands with reflective material, to make children more visible to motorists and increase safety, as the Fall ushers in shorter days and heavier traffic. “Our work is all about nurturing children,” said Williams. “These armbands improve safety for children and remind the community how much CUPE cares.”
