TORONTO The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1600, which represents zoo employees, reached a tentative agreement with the Toronto Zoo at 3 a.m. today, averting a strike or lockout. Details of the agreement will not be released until zoo employees have been informed of the contents of the tentative agreement and have had an opportunity to vote to accept or reject the offer. The current contract expired on March 31, 2005.
