SYDNEY, NS – Contract talks aimed at avoiding a strike at Braemore Home in Sydney will resume on Monday, April 4.

CUPE National Representative Todd MacPherson says, “We are hopeful that this employer will see the sense in negotiating a settlement that addresses the three outstanding issues. Our members certainly want to avoid a disruption in service but have made it clear they want these longstanding issues resolved.”

The 120 members of CUPE Local 3513 are already in a legal strike position and, under the province’s labour laws, would simply have to give the employer 48 hours notice of any job action.
