A display ad running today in several Lower Mainland B.C. newspapers pokes fun at a provincial government website that advertises career opportunities in the public sector.

On the WorkBC website, a page dedicated to community social services workers describes their occupation size as “excellent”, but salary and job stability as “below average” and future prospects as “limited”.

The ad, sponsored by CUPE National and CUPE Local 1936, wonders aloud why the government cares so little about the 15,000 workers and more than 250 agencies that support vulnerable families every day throughout B.C.

The ad appears in the Province, Metro, 24 Hours, New West Record, Burnaby Now, Coquitlam Now, North Shore News and Richmond News.
