Former CUPE national president Judy Darcy was elected MLA for New Westminister in this week’s provincial election. CUPE congratulates Sister Judy for all of her hard work, and her successful campaign.

Darcy served as the national president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees from 1991 until 2003 and as secretary-business manager of the B.C. Hospital Employees’ Union.

Darcy will continue to advocate on issues that matter to British Columbians and CUPE members - like education and transportation, seniors care and affordable child care, health care and protecting our environment.

Kathy Corrigan, formerly a CUPE researcher, was re-elected as MLA for the riding of Burnaby-Deer Lake.
