In New Delhi, India on March 14, 2007, 200 participants representing 30 different countries attended the Tenth Commonwealth Study Conference. This conference brings together young leaders from Unions, Government, Private Sector and NGOs to examine and discuss human problems of Industrialization. Participants are put into groups representing different countries and interests, and spend two weeks discussing an assigned topic.

There were 22 Canadians attending the conference, including two participants from CUPE: Kevin Rebeck, President of CUPE Manitoba and Candace Rennick, Regional Vice President of CUPE Ontario.

This year mark’s the first time the conference, which was founded in 1956, was held outside of Canada, Australia or the UK. Its theme was was “Working Together for Inclusive Growth and Development”
