Please take a moment to sign Amnesty International’s online petition to support Javier Correa.

Correa, a leader of SINALTRAINAL, a Colombian food workers’ union, lives in constant fear for his life.

More than 2,500 trade union members have been killed in Colombia - Canada’s newest free trade partner - since 1986, including 41 in 2008.

While the government claims the death squads and paramilitary organizations that carry out the killings have been disbanded, and promises protection for trade unionists, the killings continue.
