(Ottawa) A coalition of civil society groups is hosting a daylong conference on stopping the privatization of health care to parallel next weeks meeting of Canadas Premiers in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The groups will also welcome the Premiers with an active reminder to keep health care public.

National, regional and local organizations have teamed up to organize a Health Action Assembly to discuss key challenges facing public health care, including privatization, so-called public private partnerships (P3s) and exposing the corporations that are seeking to profit from further privatization of Canadas most cherished public program.

Representatives from groups across the country will also greet the Premiers to pressure them to reject further for-profit involvement in public health care.
