EDMONTON - City of Edmonton Paramedics among the thousands expected in Kimberly, BC on Monday, May 29, 2006 to pay their respects for fallen emergency personnel – paramedics Kim Weitzel and Shawn Currier. At midnight tonight, at least 25 City of Edmonton Paramedics, EMTs, and Guard of Honour, all members of CUPE Local 3197, will board a bus at EMS Station #32 – 5874 – 111 Street headed for Kimberly, BC to take part in the Memorial to honour the two paramedics who died in the line of duty on May 17, 2006 in an industrial accident at an abandoned mine site in BC. CUPE Local 3197 proudly represents 279 Edmonton Emergency Health Services Personnel. -30-
