An interview with CUPE National Secretary-Treasurer Charles Fleury appeared in a special issue of Le Devoir on April 28.  He discussed unions and the workplace, in advance of May 1, including issues of contracting out, privatization, and pension plans.

Fleury states that the time has come to fight anti-union propaganda. “The wind blowing from the right has tried to spread the message that unions are at the source of all of society’s problems. It is time to put an end to that lie. It was not unions that created the current economic crisis. On the contrary, unions have always worked to ensure the sharing of wealth.”
