VICTORIA — The United Nations has declared 2008 The International Year of Sanitation. This will be the UN focus for its annual World Water Day Awareness campaign. World Water Day grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro. It is celebrated around the world.
