From Newfoundland to British Columbia, CUPE members will be joining with our sisters and brothers in the broader union movement this weekend to honour the contributions workers have made to this country, and enjoy good company and food. Find out what’s happening in your community, and come on out.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

A rally will be held at 11:00 am at the South Commons Triangle in Halifax, followed by a free BBQ at noon.

Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia

A BBQ will be held at the CEP Hall on 323 Reevers Street, starting at 2:00 pm.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

The Labour Day picnic will be held from 12 noon - 2 pm at the Sydney waterfront on the Boardwalk. 

Moncton, New Brunswick

Riverfront Park, Sunday September 6 (rain date - Monday Sept. 7), 12:00 noon - 3:00 p.m.

Saint John, New Brunswick

The parade is gathering at the east end of Harbour Station at 11:30 a.m., parade starts at noon, ending at Rockwood Park.  BBQ and fun to follow until 3:00 pm.

Restigouche, New Brunswick

Bathurst, New Brunswick

The march will leave Coronation Park at 10:00, going down Douglas to Main to King to St. Andrews, and then back to Bathurst High School and Coronation Park.  After the march, there will be a picnic at the park.  (more info, call John Gagnon 545-6800)

Parade starting at City Hall at 12 p.m. and marching to McNab Park
for a BBQ and family fun day from 1-4:30 p.m.

Kingston, Ontario

McBurney Park Parade leaving at 10:30 a.m., followed by a picnic back at McBurney Park for the entire family.

Peterborough, Ontario

Picnic 12-3 p.m. at the Pavilion at Nicholl’s Oval Park. BBQ, music, and displays — fun-filled, free event for all ages.

Northumberland, Ontario

Family fun day at Carpenters Hall in Port Hope, 459 Croft Street, 11-2 p.m. where music, food, face-painting, clowns, jumping castles, and giant cook sale will take place.

Durham/Oshawa, Ontario

Family fun day at Memorial Park in Oshawa, corner of Simcoe and John Streets from 11-3 p.m. Enjoy live music and entertainment, face-painting, hot dogs and hamburgers.

Lindsay, Ontario

Picnic on Sept. 6, from 12-3 p.m., being held in Memorial Park for a family fun day.

Toronto, Ontario

Parade assembling at 9 a.m. and leaving University Avenue (north of Armoury Street) and marching to Exhibition Place.

Hamilton, Ontario

Parade starting at 11 a.m. at York Street, south of Queen to Dundurn Park where a picnic and BBQ is being held by CUPE 5167.

Guelph, Ontario

Picnic being held at Riverside Park from 11-4p.m. and followed by live music, face-painting, and free food.

St. Catharines, Ontario

Pot Luck Social, Sept. 6 at 36 Sunnylee Drive, 4-8 p.m. Parade on Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. — gather at CAW Hall in St. Catharines, march to Lyons Community Park, followed by BBQ. Evening events will take place in the CAW Hall in St. Catharines.

London, Ontario

Picnic starting at 1 p.m. at Thames Park, Ridge Street, south of Horton, includes entertainment and music.

Windsor, Ontario

Parade at 10 a.m., leave CAW Local 200/444 Union Hall, 1855 Turner Road, march to the Fogolar Furlan Club, followed by a picnic, entertainment, live music, free food and water.

North Bay, Ontario

Parade leaving Kenrock parking lot at 11:30 a.m. (parade route is on Memorial Drive) followed by a family fun day BBQ from 12-3 p.m. at Waterfront Park.

Sudbury, Ontario

Pancake Breakfast, 9 a.m. at Memorial Park, followed by 11 a.m. parade. Noon-6 p.m. picnic at Mill CAW Campgrounds, Richard Lake, off Hwy 69 South — family fun day and free food.

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Family fun day from Noon-4 p.m. in Belleville Park. Activities include a BBQ, live music, face-painting, sack races. Food and refreshments will be provided free of charge.

Thunder Bay, Ontario
