Brandon - Support staff on strike at the Brandon Clinic Medical Corporation have rejected the latest offer in ongoing negotiations for a new collective agreement.

Yesterday, the Brandon Clinic Medical Corporation made an offer for wage increases. Members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 2096 voted today and rejected the offer with a strong majority.

We want to find a balance between our needs and the employer’s, but the employer is still ignoring our basic needs,” said Jennifer Loewen, Vice-President of the Local Union.

She went on to say, “We are not demanding a great deal - we just want what is fair and to close the gap somewhat between what we now earn and what others doing similar work in public facilities are earning – it’s an issue of fairness and respect we’re standing up for.”
