A group of environmental activists is on their way to Cancun, Mexico to protest a World Trade Organization ministerial meeting. By bicycle. The group, members of the Sierra Youth Coalition, are conducting workshops and raising awareness along the way.

The “Deconstructing Dinner” caravan is focussing on making connections between climate change, agri-business and the struggles of migrant farm workers.

The group is recording their progress on their web site. While they’ve received donations from CUPE National, as well the Mountain Equipment Co-op, Clif Bars and other unions, the group still hopes to raise $44,000 to cover the cost of a bio-diesel support vehicle.
