CUPE Saskatchewan Health Care Council is launching a television today ad as part of their campaign to build awareness and support for CUPE health care providers.

Your Mom” follows a mother and her daughter during the mother’s hospital stay and features some of the many ways CUPE members contribute to patient care.  The commercial shows a licensed practical nurse, porter, dietary aide, laundry aide, housekeeper, combined x-ray and laboratory technologist, continuing care aide and an admissions clerk.

This helps tell the story of the valuable services that CUPE members provide to the health care system in Saskatchewan,” says CUPE Health Care Council President Gordon Campbell. “Health care in our province involves many people and they are all important to the delivery of quality patient care.“

The CUPE Health Care Council represents 13,000 health care providers in five health regions. They include continuing care aides, licensed practical nurses, food services workers, laundry, housekeeping and activity personnel, maintenance, administrative, clerical, emergency medical personnel, therapeutic and diagnostic technologists, and recreational workers. They provide services in hospitals, long term and acute care facilities, as well as community care.

The commercial begins airing throughout Saskatchewan on all major television networks on Monday, January 28.  Newspaper and online ads will also support the campaign.
