BC’s Interior Health Authority is breaking the privatization mold and keeping its new, centralized laundry service in house. HEU spokesperson Chris Allnutt says “This decision validates what weve been saying all along privatization isnt worth it. It doesnt save money, and it comes at much too high of a cost for patients, workers and local communities.

The move to centralize will still cost the equivalent of 50 full time jobs, but the Salmon Arm facility will still improve on the wholesale destruction wrought in other parts of the province.
