Concerns about the human and labour rights of foreign and domestic workers dominated a CUPE Alberta global justice committee report to the 58th annual CUPE Alberta convention in Calgary this last week.

The committee met with national committee staff adviser Ron Verzuh during the convention to discuss the temporary foreign workers’ issue, possible international solidarity projects and how locals can join CUPE’s Global Justice Fund.

Pictured here are Denis Labbe, committee chair, Mike McCann, Jake Bratten and Greg Igram, provincial committee staff adviser. Missing is Darrell Symbaluk, newly appointed national committee member. New committee members were being selected at convention.
