CUPE health care support staff across Alberta reached a tentative agreement Friday, July 17.

The workers have been without a contract since March. Details of the agreement will not be released until the workers have a chance to vote on it over the next few weeks. The union had wanted to reclaim a five-per-cent salary rollback lost by the workers in 1994, then three per cent in each year of a three year contract.

The employees are members of locals affiliated to the Alberta Council of Health Care Unions. The national representative working with the council is Bev Buck.
