CUPE BC and CUPE locals across the country are rallying support for the municipal workers in Cranbrook, on strike since February 24. The 80 striking civic workers are fighting to defend their short-term sick leave plan from management demands for concessions.

At the Division convention in Prince George last week, CUPE BC launched an Adopt a Striker program that was enthusiastically endorsed by the delegates. Pledges have already begun to arrive from across BC, Alberta and other parts of Canada.

Pledges and cheques can be sent to Locals 2090 and 2588 c/o CUPE BC, Suite 500, 4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC, V5G 4T3.
