TORONTO Striking workers from Madison Avenue Housing and Support Services will be joined at a solidarity rally tomorrow, Thursday, July 20, by a number a speakers offering their support. They include:

* Marnie Shepheard patient activist

* Denise Dufour Madison client

* Brian OKeefe CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer

(ASSIGNMENT/PHOTO EDITORS: The rally will be held on the front lawn of the Queen Street Mental Health Centre, 1001 Queen Street, beginning at noon, Thursday, July 20.)

Fourteen members of CUPE Local 3798.1 went on strike July 4th. The employer is demanding a long list of concessions, including an attack on regular hours of work. Madison Avenue Housing offers supportive housing and counselling services to consumer survivors of the mental health system.
