Sex workers do not have a union of their own to defend their rights. It is up to unions like CUPE to speak out.

The award honours contributions to the public understanding of sexual diversity in Canada by individuals or organizations. "I am very proud of the work of our union, our activists and our members over the years, promoting the rights of lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgendered people," said Brother Paul Moist.
