Sometimes the most basic and direct ideas inspire the best actions. CUPE’s annual Earth Day poster colouring contest winners for 2012 all artfully show us how to live in better harmony on the earth. The National Environment Committee runs the contest. Each year hundreds of young students from across Canada and internationally submit their posters to show their ideas for living sustainably on the planet.

The 2012 colouring contest winners depict concern for climate change, air and water pollution, loss of natural habitat and environmental contamination in our communities. But they also show us clear ways to act, by walking, using pubic transportation, conserving energy and cutting back on wasteful products and practices.

Ten students from across Canada were selected by the National Environment Committee to win environmentally-friendly prizes.

Congratulations to all of the students of all ages who submitted their work. Please look for the 2013 contest coming soon.
